How Random ISBN-13 Generation Works
An ISBN-13 consists of 13 digits partitioned into five segments: an EAN prefix (978 or 979), a registration group (country or language), a registrant (publisher) element, a publication title element, and a final check digit calculated using the standard Modulo-10 algorithm.
- Agency Range Rules: Generated numbers adhere to official range tables published by the International ISBN Agency.
- Valid Checksums: Each number includes an authentic Mod-10 checksum so validation checks pass in any software.
- Testing Only: Generated ISBNs are not registered and must never be used on commercial publications.
