Privacy Policy
At ToolSlash (accessible at toolslash.com), your privacy is our foundational architectural commitment. We believe online utilities should be fast, accessible, and respect your personal data.
Most tools execute directly in your browser memory via WebAssembly and JavaScript. Zero files stored on our servers.
AI queries are processed through OpenRouter securely. We do not retain, store, or log your prompts or outputs.
All tools are completely free to use, funded entirely through Google AdSense advertising.
Non-personally identifiable traffic metrics track visitor behavior, uptime, and performance optimizations.

Core Architecture & Principles
ToolSlash provides a comprehensive suite of online utility engines, including calculators, unit converters, file validators, media generators, and AI-assisted workflows. Our guiding philosophy is simple: your data belongs to you, and we have no interest in collecting, profiling, or monetizing your personal files.
Unlike conventional web services that require account registration, cloud uploads, and server-side tracking, ToolSlash is engineered from the ground up to operate with minimal data collection and maximum decentralization.
Client-Side Processing & Zero Server File Storage
The vast majority of utilities on ToolSlash run 100% locally on your device within your web browser's memory. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Calculators (financial, mathematical, and health calculators)
- Unit, data storage, and metric converters
- Client image resizers and dimension optimizers
- PDF inspectors, splitters, and readers
- eBook (EPUB) readers, extractors, and manuscript validators
- Client-side QR code and barcode renderers
- Text readability and syllable counting engines
When you drag-and-drop or select an image, PDF, eBook, document, or text file into a client-side tool, your file is parsed solely inside your local browser memory using standard Web APIs (such as HTML5 Canvas, WebAssembly, and FileReader). Your files are never transmitted to our web servers, never written to disk, and never stored in any database. As soon as you navigate away or close the browser tab, the data is completely purged from RAM.
Backend API Processing & Ephemeral Data
Certain specialized engines or high-computation tasks may require backend API assistance to perform algorithmic processing, verification, or lookup operations.
We still do not save or persist your data. For tools requiring backend server interaction:
- Inputs are transmitted over encrypted TLS (HTTPS) connections.
- Processing occurs ephemerally in volatile memory solely for the fraction of a second required to calculate and return the response.
- No database entries, server logs, user dossiers, or archival copies of your inputs, documents, or outputs are generated or retained.
Artificial Intelligence Services (Powered by OpenRouter)
ToolSlash integrates advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) generation capabilities across selected tools (such as title generators, pen name suggestions, and content analysis). We utilize OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) as our unified API gateway to interface with leading AI models.
How AI Requests Are Handled:
- Transient Pass-Through: When you submit a prompt to an AI-powered tool, the query is forwarded securely to OpenRouter's endpoints to query the selected foundational model and stream the response directly back to your interface.
- No Prompt or Output Storage: ToolSlash does not store, log, record, or retain your AI prompts, generated text, or usage sessions in any database.
- Third-Party Processing: OpenRouter and underlying model providers process transmissions according to their respective privacy terms and commercial API agreements. ToolSlash accesses these services via commercial APIs with data retention minimized.
- Confidentiality Recommendation: Because AI tools leverage public generative models via OpenRouter, we strongly advise against submitting sensitive personal identifiers (such as government IDs, credit card numbers, passwords, or personal health records) into AI generation prompts.
100% Free & Advertising-Funded Model (Google AdSense)
Every single tool on ToolSlash is 100% free of charge. We do not require paid subscriptions, premium memberships, credit card information, or paid unlock keys.
To fund server maintenance, domain fees, API compute costs, and ongoing software development, our platform is powered 100% by digital advertisements. We partner with Google AdSense to display advertisements across our site.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to ToolSlash or other websites on the internet.
Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Visitor Analytics & Behavior Tracking (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to collect and analyze aggregate, non-personally identifiable telemetry regarding how visitors interact with ToolSlash. This helps us ensure fast page loading, maintain cross-browser compatibility, identify broken links, and understand which tools are most useful to our community.
Information collected through Google Analytics includes:
- Approximate geographic region (country/city level, with IP addresses anonymized)
- Browser type, operating system, device screen resolution, and language
- Referring website or search query that brought you to ToolSlash
- Pages visited, session duration, and navigation interactions
Google Analytics places analytical cookies on your browser. To prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Your Data Protection Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA Compliance)
Depending on your location, you may have statutory rights regarding your personal data under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar privacy laws worldwide:
- Right of Access & Portability: You have the right to know what personal data is collected. Because ToolSlash requires no accounts and stores zero files or personal profiles, we do not maintain personal records associated with you.
- Right to Erasure / Deletion: You can delete any locally stored browser data (recent tools, cached assets) directly inside your web browser settings.
- Right to Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising: California and European residents may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising through Google's Ad Settings and standard consent managers.
- Non-Discrimination: We provide identical free access to all utility tools regardless of whether you opt out of personalized advertising.
Children's Online Privacy Protection (COPPA)
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. ToolSlash is a general-purpose utility website not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take prompt steps to remove such information.
Data Security Measures
We take administrative, technical, and architectural precautions to protect user interactions with our service:
- All web traffic between your browser and ToolSlash is encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/TLS 1.3).
- Our edge infrastructure employs strict Content Security Policies (CSP) and HTTP security headers to mitigate cross-site scripting (XSS) and injection attacks.
- Client-side processing architecture inherently eliminates the risk of centralized server data breaches because file contents never leave your device.
Updates & Modifications to This Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect enhancements in our utility engines, evolving legal frameworks, or changes in advertising partner practices. Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
